Not only are many new construction projects in South Florida resuming normal activity after Irma this week, but other anticipated residential developments are actively scheduling official groundbreakings. Aria on the Bay and Canvas are progressing as planned, with contractors only missing a surprisingly low 4 to 5 days of work. In the meantime, the developers of Elysee Miami awarded commission checks in advance of the planned fall 2017 groundbreaking.

Hurricane Irma brought forceful winds and substantial rainfall to South Florida, but most industry indsiders agree that the damage to luxury real estate could have been significantly worse. In fact, the storm is not expected to have a lasting effect on the real estate market in South Florida.

With Hurricane Irma already slamming islands in the Caribbean and moving closer to Florida, counties in South Florida have begun making preparations and Governor Rick Scott already declared a State of Emergency. Schools in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach are closed on Thursday and Friday.

A notice of commencement was filed for Aston Martin Residences, signifying the start of construction. It is the luxury brand's first venture into residential real estate. Aston Martin Residences will soon rise 66 stories on a beautiful waterfront lot in Downtown Miami. The landmark development will consist of 391 luxury condos and opulent amenities.

A grand-opening ceremony will be held on the rooftop of Louver House next week. Closings are currently underway at the luxury South Beach development, and it will soon be ready to welcome its first residents. Only four of the 12 condominiums remain for sale, including a 2,356-square-foot residence offered for 3.1 million dollars and a 2,088-square-foot residence offered for 2.58 million dollars.

Located on 360 linear feet of water frontage, AquaMar offers the best of luxury living in Fort Lauderdale. Privé at Island Estates in Miami is about one month away from completion. The two-tower project is located on a private island in Dumbfoundling Bay, and prices for the 160 luxury condominiums start at 2.1 million dollars. The spectacular project is about 70 percent sold out, with two recent sales totaling 12 million dollars.
