The Ocean Resort Residences at Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach just held its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 14. The new condo/hotel resort, offering 290 suites, a 20,000-square-foot Sky Deck that overlooks the ocean and includes a heated pool, a 4,000-square-foot spa, a fitness center, a seafood restaurant named Terra Mare, a gourmet marketplace called Cornucopia, and 10,000 square feet of meeting space. Its lobby design was modeled after the curves of a luxury yacht.

Elysee, a 57-story waterfront condo in Miami neighborhood of Edgewater, is expected to break ground next Wednesday morning, a few months after receiving a $16.5 million construction loan. The telescopic-shaped building will be comprised of 100 half-floor and full-floor condominiums, each with direct views of Biscayne Bay.

The real estate rental website Zumper released its lates national rent report, ranking the top 25 rental markets in the United States. According to their report, Miami apartments have decreased slightly in price from the previous year.

The Related Group is now offering potential buyers a two-year leaseback option for units at the luxury oceanfront W Residences in Fort Lauderdale. This idea behind this buying program is to attract buyers to the oceanfront Fort Lauderdale Beach condo-hotel. The developer, Related Companies, paid $90 million dollars for the project from the Y Group back in 2009 after the building was completed.

According to a new Zillow report which calculated the nation’s largest metro areas, the median home value in Miami rose by 7 percent; a little more than the national average year over year. The same study found median rents in Miami decreased by approximately 1.5 percent.
