This should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone who lives in or has visited Miami, but the South Florida city has officially been named one of the most fun cities in the United States. Miami came in third on WalletHub's 2016 Most Fun Cities in America study and was only bested by Las Vegas and Orlando. New Orleans took the fourth place spot.
In the study, the country's largest 150 cities were compared across three categories containing 51 key metrics. Unsurprisingly, Miami scored well on the "Entertainment and Recreation" and "Nightlife and Parties" categories, but it lagged behind in the "Costs" category. Out of the metrics, Miami topped "Most Restaurants per Capita" and "Most Fitness Centers per Capita", among other impressive finishes.
Fort Lauderdale came in at an admirable 9th place out of 150 cities. Fort Lauderdale ranked only slightly lower than Miami in the "Entertainment and Recreation" and "Nightlife and Parties" categories, but Miami's northern neighbor also kept things slightly more affordable.
With this study, Miami (and the rest of South Florida) is now officially a great place to live, work and play. It's time to make the move!
