Like Miami, Broward County home sales have been extremely active. The county saw a double-digit increase in the median price of single-family homes and condos in June, on a year-over-year basis. Single-family home sales also increased, despite the continuing property shortage.

Home sales continued to rise in Miami, according to Douglas Elliman’s quarterly market report. The number of sales rose to the highest number in 7 years, and the average sales price rose to the highest level since the third quarter of 2008.

Another luxury condominium at the Apogee Miami Beach recently sold for 12.4 million dollars. The sale set a record in Miami-Dade County for the highest price paid for a non-oceanfront, non-penthouse unit. A similar condo in the Apogee sold for 10.5 million dollars in January.

In yet another example of the thriving real estate market in South Florida, a Miami Beach estate home has sold for a record-breaking 30 million dollars. The Mediterranean-style mansion known as Castello del Sol is located on exclusive La Gorce Island.
