World-renowned architect Zaha Hadid died suddenly of a heart attack on March 31st in Miami Beach. The iconic architect was the first female to win the prestigious Pritzker Prize in architecture. Her distinctive designs are responsible for major landmarks across the globe.
Zaha Hadid was in the process of seeing one of her first residential towers in the Western Hemisphere completed in Miami. 1000 Museum on Biscayne Boulevard is currently at 9 stories in construction. Once complete, the stunning condo tower will soar 60 stories, complete with a distinctive exoskeleton and topped off by helipad. 1000 Museum will include over 30,000 square feet of amenity space, including a sun and swim terrace, a state-of-the-art gym, a full-service spa and a theater. The luxury condominium building will also feature a double-height aquatic center and sky lounge. 1000 Museum is one of the most anticipated new developments in all of Florida.
“She was really looking forward to seeing this building done,” stated the developer. He also noted that design work for the groundbreaking project is complete.
Zaha Hadid undoubtedly made a huge impact in the field of architecture and beyond. Her death is a great loss for society and the city of Miami.
