Plans for a 14-story, luxury condo tower on West Avenue in Miami Beach were recently revealed. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, the exclusive development contains 80 condominiums, with at least 2 penthouse residences. If approved, it will be the architect's first residential building in South Florida.
Condos in the proposed development will feature 2 to 5 bedrooms, private pools in select residences, private elevators and at least 3 exposures. The luxury tower will be covered in a vegetation screen and surrounded by a man-made lagoon. Nouvel was conscious of the rising sea level when he designed aspects of the project. The underground parking garage and lagoon were both designed to withstand occasional flooding.
Demolition is currently underway at the proposed site, but further details about the building's completion date have not been released.
