Miami has moved up on Knight Frank's list of the top 40 global cities. The survey monitors which cities are important to ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
Miami took the sixth spot in this year's survey, moving up a spot from last year. The list is comprised of cities where the wealthy work, learn, invest and socialize. The report noted that Miami has seen huge waves of investment from Latin America and, most recently, China.
New York City is the only American city higher than Miami on the list. New York came in second, with London taking the number one spot.
