Art Basel Miami Beach begins this week and upwards of 75,000 people are expected to visit the city to peruse the 267 international galleries, attend lavish soirees and look at luxury real estate. With many of the world's most affluent art collectors in town, real estate developers seize the opportunity to showcase high-end condominium projects.
Many anticipated residential developments in South Florida feature fine art as an amenity. Two 10-foot-tall Jeff Koons sculptures, Pluto and Proserpina and Ballerina, will adorn Oceana Bal Harbour's 5-story breezeway. Pluto and Proserpina is currently on loan for a world tour through the Whitney Museum in New York City, Centre Pompidou in Paris, Guggenheim in Bilbao and MALBA in Buenos Aires. Muse in Sunny Isles Beach will include a unique sculpture by Helidon Xhixha in each residence. Grove at Grand Bay and One Ocean are just two of Miami's exclusive condo buildings featuring curated art in common areas.
